Bensenville Public Library will be open for 24 hours Sept. 11 as part of the Libraries Remember program to commemorate the attacks of 2001 and to celebrate the role libraries play in preserving a free society.

This is the eighth time the Bensenville facility at 200 S. Church Road has participated. Events will include a sunrise commemoration at 6:15 a.m. in the library's garden; a concert by Lakeside Flutes at 2 p.m.; and a theatrical presentation, "An Evening with Mark Twain," at 8 p.m.

At 8 a.m., the library will rebroadcast the "CBS Morning News" exactly as it played on Sept. 11, 2001.
