The third trial on child molestation charges against former Vernon Hills resident Michael Rebecca was delayed Wednesday.

Lake County Associate Judge Theodore Potkonjak said there had been too much publicity of Rebecca's second trial, which ended with a conviction Tuesday, to ensure there would be impartial jurors to hear the new case.

Rebecca, who was also convicted on child molestation charges in the fall, is accused of molesting nine boys over a six-year period. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the first conviction and faces 100 to 120 years in prison in the case that ended Tuesday. Potkonjak scheduled the third trial for Feb. 8.
