A 57-year-old Wheeling man was ordered held on $20,000 bond Saturday on charges he sexually abused a 13-year-old girl he was baby-sitting.

The abuse allegedly occurred at the girl's home in August and was revealed to authorities Wednesday when the child told a teacher at school, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Haley Peck.

Benigno Gaytan, of the 200 block of Fletcher Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with a felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He was ordered held on $20,000 bond by Cook County Judge Jim Etchingham Saturday, meaning he would have to post $2,000 to get out of jail as the case moves forward. Gaytan didn't post bail Saturday morning.

Gaytan used to be employed as a truck driver, said Cook County Assistant Public Defender Vincent Akers. Peck said he has a previous arrest for battery in 1992.

Gaytan's next court date is set for Dec. 28 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
