A Michigan woman was free on bond Saturday after she was arrested late Friday night in an alleged prostitution sting at an Arlington Heights hotel, authorities said.
Kari Knox, 36, of Coloma, Mich., faces a felony charge of prostitution for allegedly agreeing to have sex with an undercover Arlington Heights police detective.
Knox advertised "a sensual session with pleasure and excitement" on craigslist.com that attracted the detective's attention, said Caroline Kennedy, an assistant state's attorney for Cook County. The two arranged a meeting at an Algonquin Road hotel where he paid her $300. Knox allegedly asked the officer what he wanted, he responded "sex," and she was arrested.
Knox has a previous prostitution conviction in Cook County and was released after posting $1,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. May 21 in Rolling Meadows.
