Arlington Heights

• Burglars broke into a 2007 Ford Explorer in a hotel lot at 3700 N. Wilke Road between 9 p.m. March 9 and 6:30 a.m. March 10 and stole a GPS unit, satellite radio and other items. Loss was estimated at $900.

Des Plaines

• Burglars entered an unlocked home on the 300 block of Davis Court between 10:55 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. March 10 and stole a jewelry box containing a gold and ruby ring, gold and diamond tennis bracelet, costume jewelry and money valued at $950.

• Vandals wrote gang graffiti in a men's washroom at the Des Plaines Library, 1501 E. Ellinwood St., between 5 p.m. March 9 and 11:45 a.m. March 10. Damage was estimated at $50.

Mount Prospect

• Vandals put glue in the front door lock at a foreclosed condominium on the 500 block of Huntington Commons Road three times between Feb. 1 and March 3. Each time the real estate agency showing the unit had the locks changed. Total damage was estimated at $300.

Prospect Heights

• Burglars stole a laptop computer and wallet with cash, ID and credit cards out of a Dodge Durango in an apartment lot on the 800 block of Piper Lane between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 26. Loss was estimated at $1,487.

• Vandals scratched all sides, hood and trunk lid and punched holes in the rear driver's-side and front passenger's-side tires on a 1998 Buick Century on the 400 block of North Maple Street between 10 p.m. March 7 and 10 a.m. March 8. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Rolling Meadows

• Julian Jaurequi, 45, of the 400 block of Belmont Street, Elgin, was arrested around 5:45 p.m. March 6 at Meijer, 1301 Meijer Drive, and charged with retail theft of an MP3 player. Her court date is March 30.

• Enrique Cedillo-Bolanos, 18, of the 1900 block of Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 6:25 p.m. March 9 at Wal-Mart, 1460 Golf Road, and charged with retail theft of CDs. His court date is April 24.

• Burglars broke into Fusion Land, 1939 Plum Grove Road, between 10:30 p.m. March 7 and 2:30 p.m. March 8 and stole cans and bottles of soft drinks and $200.

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets into three windows at a home on the 2100 block of Vermont between Dec. 1 and March 9. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

• Burglars broke into a 2003 Dodge Durango on the 4700 block of Arbor Drive between 6 p.m. March 8 and 9:30 a.m. March 9 and stole a GPS valued at $200.


• Jessie L. Nash, 38, of the 3400 block of West 82nd Place, Chicago, and Shauntel L. Branch, 29, of the 300 block of Inwood Drive, Wheeling, were arrested around 1 a.m. March 7 in an apartment lot at 300 Inwood Drive. Nash was charged with possession of marijuana, and his court date is April 2; Branch was arrested on a McHenry County warrant.

• Burglars broke into Digi-Cell, 98 E. Dundee Road, between 11:15 and 11:31 p.m. March 9 and stole a laptop computer, money out of the cash register and an empty phone box. Loss was estimated at $500.
