WARRENVILLE - Navistar Defense was awarded 400 additional MaxxPro Dash units designed for urgent operations in Afghanistan, in a contract worth $362 million.
MaxxPro Dash vehicles are smaller, more mobile versions of the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protection, or MRAP vehicles made for the military by Navistar.
Navistar will complete delivery of the units while testing and MRAP, All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) program is underway.
The U.S. military announced its M-ATV program in November. Navistar will also deliver a previous September award of 822 MaxxPro Dash vehicles a month ahead of schedule at the end of January. Work on the additional 400 units is to be completed by the end of May.
