The bomb-sniffing dogs have been cleared from Westfield Old Orchard shopping mall. The Cook County bomb squad was called to the mall located at 4509 Old Orchard Center by Skokie Police about 6 p.m., county police spokeswoman Peggy Mateck said.

The bomb squad remained on the scene for about three hours before being cleared out. Macy's and Nordstrom stores were evacuated during a search. Skokie police officials said the investigation was continuing. Calls to stores inside the mall as well as Westfield Old Orchard officials were not returned late Saturday.
