Kane County

• Shannon Lee Jones, 32, of Calhoun Street in Woodstock, is being held in the Kane County jail after being charged Friday with two counts of residential burglary and one count of attempted burglary. Sheriff's officers had responded to calls a day earlier regarding a burglary near Blackberry Way and Lea Road in Geneva Township. Jones was apprehended on foot near a shed and evidence was recovered at the scene.

• The owner of a vacant house on Hickory Court in Burlington Township reported obscenities were spray-painted on garage columns and the brick exterior of the house sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday. No damage estimate was reported.

• A laptop computer valued at about $5,000 was reported stolen from a business in the 100 block of First Street in Big Rock Township sometime between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. A wallet containing $85 was reported stolen from an unlocked Dodge Caravan outside the business during the same time.

• Allen Mahr, 27, of the 400 block of east Blair Street in West Chicago, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 11:54 p.m. Thursday on Route 25 near Kenyon Road in Elgin Township. He was also charged with speeding, excessive noise and operating a 1990 Honda Accord without insurance.

St. Charles

• Julia A. Marks, 17, of 2807 Turnberry Road, was arrested Thursday and charged with theft after stealing a $6.50 bottle of tanning lotion from Tan Salon, 3623 E. Main St., police said. She was released with a Nov. 1 court date.

• Cesar Del Los Santos, 33, and Oscar Diaz-Cadena, 19, both of 524 E. Blair St., West Chicago, were arrested at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft after stealing more than $3,000 in cologne and perfume from Kohl's, 3810 E. Main St., police said. The men were released on $1,000 bond each and given a Nov. 1 court date.

• A car door was scratched, causing $150 in damage, Thursday on the 100 block of Walnut Drive.

• An Alpine stereo valued at $400 was stolen Thursday from a vehicle on the 900 block of South Randall Road.

• Several spools of copper wire, of undetermined value, were stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from a construction site on the 2600 block of West Main Street.

• About $1,600 in copper wire was stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from a construction site on the 500 block of South First Street.

• A blue-and-silver 21-speed Schwinn bicycle valued at $150 was stolen Monday from a yard on the 300 block of South Second Avenue.
