An Antioch man died Sunday after he was struck by a boat on Lake Marie, authorities said.

Russell Neeleman, 28, of Antioch, will autopsied at about 1 p.m. today, said officials from the McHenry County Coroner's Office.

Neeleman suffered severe leg, arm and head injuries in the accident, Lake County sheriff's police Lt. John Crilly said. He was taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry where he was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred about 6:35 p.m. on a part of the lake near the 26000 block of Forest Avenue in Antioch Township, Crilly said.

The victim was riding a personal watercraft when he collided with the boat, police said.

People witnessed the crash and tried to help the victim, but he could not be saved, Crilly said.

There's no indication alcohol was a factor in the crash, Crilly said.

No charges were filed Sunday night, nor was anyone in custody.

Lake County sheriff's police are investigating the crash.
