• A home on the 1100 block of Thoroughbred Circle was burglarized sometime between March 28 and Sunday while the residents were away on vacation, according to police. It appeared as if the offenders broke a window to gain access to the home. Various items were stolen, including crystal plates and glasses, a jar containing nearly $500 in cash, a jewelry box with gold rings valued at $2,500 and a white gold chain with a diamond pendant valued at $2,500.

• Silver C.R. Sorensen, 22, of the 6N500 block of Fox River Avenue, and Jonathon Garret McGrath, 24, of the 1200 block of Greenleaf Avenue in Chicago, were arrested Sunday, according to a police report. Police were called to the 100 block of South First Avenue for a report of a fight in progress. Police located Sorensen in back of a van in what they believed to be an extremely intoxicated state. Sorensen refused to answer any questions police asked of him. A man at the location told police Sorensen began punching him in the head after he refused to do what Sorensen demanded of him. Sorensen was then arrested. A search of his person revealed a plastic bag containing 9.39 grams of cannabis. McGrath was also at the scene. After talking to police, he was informed that they didn't need to speak with him any longer and McGrath refused to leave. Police then informed him he was interfering with the police investigation and McGrath again refused to leave. Police placed him under arrest for obstructing/resisting a police officer. At the station, McGrath continued to refuse to cooperate with police.

• Isabel Cortes, 17, of the 200 block of High Street in West Chicago, and Noemi Arellano, 18, of the 200 block of Sophia Street in West Chicago, were charged with retail theft March 30, according to a police report. Store security at Kohl's, 3840 E. Main St., observed Cortes and Arellano select several clothing items from throughout the store and enter a fitting room. The two then exited the fitting room without any of the merchandise. Security then observed Arellano place a pair of shoes from a display rack and put them in her purse. Security then observed Cortes take two pairs of sandals from a display shelf, put one pair on her feet and the other pair in her purse. They then attempted to leave the store without paying for any of the items. Cortes was found with about $207 worth of merchandise. Arellano was found with about $159 worth of merchandise.

• Amaehia L. Johnson, 18, of the 200 block of Syril Drive in Geneva, was arrested March 23 on charges of retail theft, according to a police report. A woman came to the St. Charles police station on March 24 and told police her niece, Johnson, stole jewelry from her home. The woman told police Johnson is homeless, pregnant and has a history of stealing from family members. The woman told police Johnson stole three gold rings, a gold chain, a gold and white diamond tennis bracelet and a charm made of gold and white diamonds from a bathroom while the woman allowed Johnson to stay at her home. The total value of the jewelry was estimated at about $700. Three of the stolen items were later found at a local cash for gold store.


• A Batavia man has been charged with disorderly conduct, according to a police report. Darien T. Randle, 18, of the 700 block of North Washington Street, turned himself in on a warrant at 10:49 a.m. Monday at the police station.

• A 12-gauge shotgun and 10 pieces of jewelry were reported stolen at 6:27 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Viking Court, police said.

• Edward Arbet, 50, of 621 N. Prairie St., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct, according to a police report. Complainants told police Arbet was drunk and using offensive language around 7:15 p.m. near Park and Lathem streets.

• Ilse C. Carlson, 60, of 33 Briar Gate Circle, Sugar Grove, was charged with retail theft at 5:49 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. She is accused of stealing sunglasses, a ring and a handbag from Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road.

• Tania P. Torres, 24, of the 700 block of Grove Street, Aurora, was charged with retail theft Friday at Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road, according to a police report. She is accused of stealing children's clothing.

• Robert J. Wood, 23, of the 200 block of South River Street, was arrested on two outstanding warrants while police investigated a disturbance in the 200 block of South River at 2:36 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report. He was wanted in Lake County on a warrant for failure to appear in court on an obstruction of justice charge, and in DuPage County on a DUI warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County jail.


• Jerrie L. Kiser, 45, of the 48W600 block of Beith Road, Maple Park, was arrested and charged with theft of services at 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 0-99 block of South State Street after she could not pay a $228 cab fare for transportation from Elgin to Chicago and back to Elgin, according to a police report.
