A Glendale, Ariz., man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he molested a young girl while stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base.

Anthony Persinger, 32, is charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Assistant State's Attorney James Newman said the victim, who is now 20, called the Naval Criminal Investigative Service last year to report the attacks.

Newman said the woman reported she had been molested by Persinger repeatedly between September and December 2002 in family housing at the base.

Persinger was arrested Feb. 17 after an investigation by NCIS, and is currently in the Lake County jail on $500,000 bond.

Circuit Judge John Phillips told Persinger he faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the charges, and ordered him to appear in court May 4.
