Over and over and over, experts have warned that what you post on the Internet can come back to hurt you.

Buffalo Grove resident Michael E. Sullivan should have heeded their advice.

Sullivan, 41, of the 100 block of Morningside Drive, was arrested after he posted a violent message on his Facebook page, Vernon Hills police said.

"Mike Sullivan is again ready to start killing indiscriminately," police say the post read. "I'm going to put Vernon Hills on the ... map."

An acquaintance saw the post, was concerned and called Vernon Hills police, Officer Sharon Joseph said.

Sullivan was arrested Saturday at the Vernon Hills office-supply store where he works. He told police he was just venting and joking around, Joseph said.

He told officers he was working three jobs, raising a daughter alone and under stress, Joseph said.

Sullivan was charged under village ordinance with disorderly conduct. He was released from police custody after posting $75 bond.

He is next scheduled to appear in the Mundelein branch of Lake County circuit court April 19.
