Free concert offers family music today
Focus on flowers for photographs
Photographer Judy Kinal of Roselle will give a program on photography at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bloomingdale Park District Museum, 108 S. Bloomingdale Road, Bloomingdale. Presented by the Bloomingdale Artists' Association, cost is $5, or free with $25 annual membership in the Association. Kinal will demonstrate how to create spectacular floral images and how to improve your photography in general. Bring your digital camera and take the best picture you can at the Museum, and have it critiqued by Judy. The first 20 people will have a hands-on opportunity. Free hearing screening Thursday
A free hearing screening for all ages will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday in front of Jewel-Osco, 343 Irving Park Road, Wood Dale. The Wood Dale Lions Club is sponsoring a visit from the traveling Lions Club Hearing Bus for the screening. For details, call Dennis Kosakowski at (630) 595-4743.
Peace concert planned Saturday
Bands Not Bombs, a free outdoor concert for peace sponsored by a coalition of area peace groups, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Old Town Park, 111 Third St., Bloomingdale. Featured bands will be: Agents of Change, Expendable Youth, La Armada, and Phillip Morris. A special collection will be taken to support Midwest Homeless Vets Shelter in Aurora. From 3:30 to 4:40 p.m., there will be a peace walk and street vigil march to Congressman Peter Roskam's Bloomingdale office four blocks away, and attendees are invited to bring their own signs expressing support for the troops by bringing them home from Iraq.
