A Palatine woman has been ticketed in the motorcycle crash that killed a Schaumburg couple Monday morning.

Police said Terri Lewis, 61, of the 1100 block of Azalea Lane, struck the motorcycle on Quentin Road near Dundee Road outside Palatine as she was pulling out of a gas station.

Lewis received a citation for failure to yield while pulling out of a private driveway.

Michael and Susan Kelm of the 100 block of Weymouth Lane in Schaumburg were killed in the crash, which occurred just before noon.

Officials from the Cook County Medical Examiner officials said Michael Kelm, 55, was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. His 54-year-old wife was pronounced dead a little more than an hour later, also at Lutheran General.

Lewis was also treated at and released from Lutheran General following the crash, Cook County Sheriff spokeswoman Lisa Gordon said.
