Cook County prosecutors dismissed aggravated battery charges against 34-year-old Alberto Malaga-Antele for a March 28 stabbing in the 1100 block of E. Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights. The stabbing followed an evening of drinking and arm wrestling between acquaintances, including the victim and defendant, who lived in the same apartment complex, authorities say. The victim, who was not seriously injured, is working in Iowa and declined to come to Illinois to serve as a witness, said assistant state's attorney Adam Klugman.
