Arlington Heights police are looking for two alleged gang members who stabbed a 27-year-old man at an apartment complex on Monday.

According to Cmdr. Ken Galinski, the victim was walking away from the rental office of the Tanglewood Apartments at 2100 South Goebbert Road when two other men chased him and stabbed him several times in the back at about 3:30 p.m.

"After he was stabbed, he turned around to face his attackers and was stabbed in the forearm," Galinski said.

The victim -- who was recovering at Northwest Community Hospital on Tuesday -- is a member of one gang and his attackers were members of another gang, Galinski said.

"We have been seeing some increased gang activity in that area," he said. "So in turn, we are going to come up with some plans for this summer. We don't want things to get out of hand."

The attackers were both described as Hispanic men. One was 5 feet 9 inches tall with a heavy build. He was bald and wore black pants and a black T-shirt with red lettering. The second attacker was 5 feet 9 inches tall and slim, police said.
