Arlington Heights

• Burglars broke into a 2002 Jeep Liberty and a 2003 Volkswagen Golf in a fitness center lot at 320 E. Golf Road between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. March 19 and stole a purse out of each vehicle. Loss was estimated at $400.

• Thieves stole four hubcaps valued at $400 from a 2001 Dodge Ram van belonging to Arlington Heights Elementary Dist. 25 and parked at the Rand School facility, 2550 N. Arlington Heights Road, on an unknown date but reported March 20.

• Burglars broke into a 2007 Ford pickup truck in a driveway on the 800 block of West Victoria Lane between 9:30 p.m. March 20 and 8 a.m. March 21 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $500.

Rolling Meadows

• Vandals used black markers to write graffiti on an exterior wall at Kimball Hill School, 2905 Meadow Drive, between 3:30 p.m. March 18 and 3:30 p.m. March 19.

Schaumburg

• Pedro M. Castanon, 36, of the 600 block of Mesa Drive, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. March 17 at Marshalls, 1488 E. Golf Road, and charged with retail theft. His court date is April 23.

• A man ran from a 2008 Mercedes sedan in an employee lot at a business on the 900 block of East Higgins Road around 11:05 a.m. March 17 when the female owner approached and saw him sitting in the back seat. Items were scattered inside the car. The offender fled in a silver Chrysler 300 driven by a male accomplice.

• Burglars broke into a 2005 Audi A4 in a lot on the 1100 block of East Algonquin Road between 9 p.m. March 16 and 12:30 p.m. March 17 and stole a GPS unit and radar detector. Loss was estimated at $740.

• Thieves stole a salt spreader and tools from a church parking lot on the 1300 block of North Meacham Road between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. March 17. Loss was estimated at $1,749.
