Fire broke out at Sunset Pool in Glen Ellyn Sunday afternoon, damaging storage areas and pool slides.

The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company responded to a fire at the pool complex, 483 Fairview Ave., about 3:16 p.m. Sunday, according to public information officer Craig Eldridge.

Roughly 20 firefighters put out the fire with about 15 minutes but stayed on scene for two hours until arson investigators arrived.

Eldridge said calling the investigators is standard procedure. The cause of the fire is not yet known but he does not currently have reason to believe foul play was involved.

The complex was closed at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.

Water slides and storage areas adjacent to the pool were badly damaged in the blaze but a cost estimate is not yet available. Eldridge said the pool itself was not damaged.
