Nobody was hurt in a Friday night accident when an empty car was sandwiched between a pair of trains in West Chicago, authorities said.

Between 7:15 and 7:20 p.m., a pair of trains crashed into a vacant car on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at Roosevelt Road, just east of Kautz Road, Lt. Jason Day of the West Chicago Fire Protection District said.

Day did not know whether Metra or freight trains were involved in the accident or why the car was on the tracks. Fire personnel from Geneva and Batavia also responded to the crash.
