A 67-year-old Lake Forest man was charged with four counts of unlawful possession of child pornography after police said they found videos stored on his computer hard drive.

Edward Kent Jr., of 478 E. Westleigh Road, could face up to 20 years in jail if convicted on the charges, which are Class 3 felonies, Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran announced Tuesday.

The sheriff's office on Oct. 2 received information from the Illinois Attorney General's office regarding the possible possession of child pornography by a Lake Forest resident, according to a news release.

An investigation turned up further information that allowed investigators to obtain a search warrant for Kent's home and computer. On Oct. 10, investigators executed the warrant. A forensic search revealed the videos involving children ranging in ages from 5 to 13, police said.

Kent came home two hours after investigators arrived and was arrested without incident, according to the release.

Kent was in custody Tuesday on $250,000 bond. A court date is scheduled for Oct. 24. Experts continue to examine the computer and more charges are possible, police said.
