The DuPage County Board will hold its first adult business subcommittee public hearing at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in room 3500B at the county administration building, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. Board member Jim Zay called for the special panel in an attempt to better regulate alcohol consumption at locations that allow nude dancing. Currently, county law permits such businesses to allow patrons to bring in their own alcoholic beverages. Zay said the lack of drinking oversight by the businesses has led to fatal car crashes.

Lombard promotes planner

Lombard has tapped one of its own to help guide development in the village. William Heniff of Naperville is Lombard's new development director, taking over for David Hulseberg who recently became village manager. Heniff had served as acting director for four months, senior planner since March 2000 and previously as senior planner for DuPage County from 1993 to 2000. "It will be my goal to build upon the successes we have accomplished over the past decade to ensure that Lombard remains a desirable place to live, work and play," he said.
