Free bike valet at the Criterium

The Advocates of the Winfield Criterium will offer free bike valet parking for those watching the Winfield Criterium from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday near Oakwood Park at Oakwood Street and from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday near the race's start and finish area at Creekside Park, Winfield and Beecher streets. Singers sought for summer

The Wheaton Symphony Chorus is seeking singers for its summer season with a need for all voices but especially tenors and basses. Membership is open to high school, college and adult singers without auditions. The group will perform Roy Harris - Folk Song Symphony June 24 and the music of Rodgers and Hart Aug. 1-2. Order of Purple Heart to meet

The newly relocated Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 144 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Papworth and Gary avenues, Wheaton. Donate to school in Angola this week

West Chicago's Community High School is seeking donations of school, recreational and medical supplies to ship to Angola. Clothing of all types, especially warm clothing, blankets, crutches, wheelchairs and playground equipment including soccer balls and hula hoops are needed. Painting materials and drop cloths to decorate classrooms also are requested. Donations can be dropped off during school hours or 6 to 9 p.m. today at the high school, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago.
