Teacher charged with smoking pot in the teacher's lounge

A Waukegan Township High School teacher was arrested after being accused of smoking pot in a teacher's lounge, according to the Waukegan Police Department.

School security officials responded to a complaint of a person smoking marijuana in the lounge on April 22, according to police.

School officials monitored the restroom and confronted the teacher, Deborah Logan of Evanston, after she exited the restroom, according to the report.

Security officials found marijuana in Logan's purse, according to police reports. She was then escorted off school property and the cannabis was turned over to the Waukegan Police Department .

On May 5, Logan surrendered to police at the Waukegan station, where she posted bond and was released.

Waukegan Township High School Upper Grade Center is located at 2325 Brookside Ave.
